About the Event

Webster Parish Libraries launched its annual Trunk-or-Treat events in Fall 2021 to offer a safe, family-friendly alternative to traditional trick-or-treating while fostering community connections with local businesses. Quickly embraced in both northern and southern parts of the parish, the event has grown in popularity each year. Held on or just before Halloween, the celebration invites children to trick-or-treat from the creatively decorated trunks of vehicles sponsored by local organizations—bringing the entire community together in festive spirit.

A Hogwarts Trunk or Treat

Part II

Inspired by one of our most beloved book series, the 2025 Trunk-or-Treat theme is "A Hogwarts Trunk or Treat – Part II." How does it differ from last year’s Chamber of Secrets edition? You’ll have to experience the magic for yourself!

Due to the event’s continued growth, new regulations and strict guidelines have been implemented to ensure a safe, efficient, and enjoyable experience for all. Please review these carefully before signing up to participate. Your cooperation and adherence to these guidelines are essential and appreciated.

What’s New: a Few Helpful Changes in Minden!

This year’s Trunk or Treat event in Minden will feature several important changes designed to enhance safety and improve the overall experience for attendees. Pedestrian barriers will be installed to help form clearly defined trunk lines, making it easier for families to navigate the event and maintain an orderly flow. These lines will be clearly marked with signage for better visibility and direction. Additionally, the attraction house will have a new designated route: guests will line up by heading up the Stewart Center back ramp, proceed through the attraction house, and exit near the main library. Library staff will be easily recognizable in Webster Parish Library t-shirts. We encourage parents to show our logo to their children ahead of time so that, in the event they become separated from their family, they will know to approach a library staff member for assistance. These updates are all part of our effort to ensure a safe, fun, and well-organized event for everyone.

 Business/Organization Registration Info

**NEW IN 2025**

  1. By registering to participate in this event, your business or organization agrees to be present on the originally scheduled date and the designated rain date, if applicable. Please note that this is an outdoor event.

  2. To ensure the safest possible environment for local trick-or-treaters, only businesses and organizations located within Webster Parish are permitted to host trunks at this event. Individuals not representing a local business or organization will not be allowed to participate.

  3. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. A total of 26 parking spots are available in Springhill and 29 in Minden. The registration deadline is Tuesday, October 7th. There is no fee to participate in this event.

  4. Minden business and organization trunk participants must arrive and check in between 4:15PM and 4:45PM to set up their trunks. All Minden trunk participants must be fully onsite by 4:45PM—no exceptions. **Please note: In 2025, trunk line barriers will be set up at exactly 4:45PM, and will not be adjusted or removed to accommodate late arrivals. Timely arrival is essential for a smooth and safe event. The event will start promptly at 5:30PM.

  5. Springhill business and organization trunk participants must arrive and check in between 4PM and 4:30PM to set up their trunks. All Springhill trunk participants must be fully onsite by 4:30PM—no exceptions. The event will start promptly at 5PM.

  6. Due to limited parking space, only the vehicle designated to participate in the trunk line will be permitted in the parking lot during setup. Please ensure all decorations and materials are contained within the vehicle you plan to use onsite. Your cooperation is appreciated in helping us maintain an organized and efficient setup process.

  7. A maximum of six representatives per business or organization may work at a trunk at any given time. This guideline is in place as a courtesy to neighboring trunks and to ensure a comfortable experience for all participants.

  8. All trunk participants must register in advance—unregistered businesses or organizations will not be permitted to set up on the day of the event. While we deeply value our community partners, last-minute requests create logistical and spacing challenges. Thank you for understanding and helping us ensure a well-organized and safe event for everyone.

  9. You will need to provide your own decorations for your trunk. Feel free to get creative! Sticking to the WPL event theme is not required. You may bring a table to set in front of your trunk and decorate if desired.

  10. Electrical outlets are not available in parking spaces.

  11. Please review the parking and event map prior to your arrival for important instructions. Your business or organization will be assigned a number corresponding to a specific parking spot. Note that signage will display only the assigned number, not your business name.

  12. Each trunk is responsible for providing sealed, individually wrapped candy or treat items. While sharing information about your organization or business is allowed, please remember that this is a family-friendly, fast-paced event. Please be mindful to help maintain a steady flow of trunk-or-treaters to ensure everyone can fully enjoy the experience.

  13. Please come prepared with at least 2,000 individually wrapped items to ensure every child receives a treat.

  14. Parking spot assignments will be posted the week of October 13th on the Webster Parish Libraries Facebook page and this event page.

  15. Please be respectful toward our library staff, who dedicate significant time and effort to making this event possible. While they do not create the rules, they are responsible for enforcing them.
